Health Forms and Immunizations Records: All students are required to have a completed health form on file in the Health Services. New Jersey law requires all matriculating students born after 1956 to provide proof of Measles (two doses), Mumps, and Rubella immunizations. Additionally, one dose of Meningococcal vaccine is required for all resident students. Verification of negative Tuberculosis (Mantoux) test is required of all resident and international students. Failure to provide this documentation will result in delayed registration.
Student Health Insurance: New Jersey law requires all full-time students to be enrolled in a health insurance program. For this reason, all full-time students will be automatically enrolled in a basic medical (illness and accident) plan offered by the university. The illness portion of the plan may be waived by signing an insurance waiver form and submitting a copy of a current insurance card to the Bursar.
The university's medical plan includes $1500 for each illness or accident, payable at 100% (usual and customary charge) with no deductibles. This includes a maximum of $175 coverage for prescriptions per illness or accident. Most illnesses and accidents qualify for an additional $5000, payable at 80%. (Please note that a $100 deductible applies for an emergency room visit if the visit is deemed non-emergent.)
Referral Requirement: In the absence of a life threatening medical emergency, and during Georgian Court University Health Center's normal business hours, the student's first visit must be to the Health Center, or the claim will not be payable.
As a part of the university's medical plan, all full-time students are enrolled in the accident plan. This plan is intended to supplement the students primary insurance, but would become primary if no other insurance exists at the time of injury. There is no waiver for this insurance.
A copy of the current university insurance brochure may be obtained by contacting Health Services. The brochure may also be accessed on the website.

Fees: There are no fees for professional services in the Health Center. Immunizations are provided at a discounted rate. Payment is due at the time of the service and may be paid by cash, personal check, Visa or MasterCard.
Class Excuses: Excuses are not issued for missed classes or assignments because of illness or office visit. Each student is responsible for notifying his or her professor of absences.
