| Travel Getaways | | Lancaster, PA | Longwood Gardens and Lancaster Weekend Getaway Join Georgian Court for an overnight trip to Longwood Gardens and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. One of the most beautiful estates in the United States, Longwood Gardens has been preserving its 300- year heritage since its purchase by conservationist/philanthropist Pierre du Pont in the early 20th century. Beautiful at all times, spring is particularly enchanting, featuring the stars of early spring— dogwoods, tulips, bougainvilleas, and flowering fruits. Lunch in the café, a guided tour, and plenty of time to wander the buildings and grounds are included.
Your trip also includes a visit to the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster, featuring a multicourse meal and a professional presentation
of the popular musical Guys and Dolls, the story of small-time gamblers

| Biographies from the Court | | The Mansion | Biographies from The Court Our unique interactive theatrical performances that bring to life
the Gould family and its contemporaries continue. Join “Mrs. Edith
Kingdon Gould” for one of her elegant tea parties and experience
the Gilded Age.
Mrs. Gould Welcomes Cole Porter Born in 1891, Cole Albert Porter was an
American composer and songwriter. His works
include the musical comedies Kiss Me, Kate
(1948, based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of
the Shrew), Fifty Million Frenchmen (1929), and
Anything Goes (1934), as well as songs like
“Night and Day,” “I Get a Kick Out of You”
(from Anything Goes), and “I’ve Got You Under
My Skin.” He was noted for his sophisticated
(and sometimes ribald) lyrics, clever rhymes, and
complex forms. Porter was one of the most prolific contributors to the
Great American Songbook and promises to be a delightful guest in the
Gould home.
