Career Development

The Office of Career Development can be a valuable resource to students and alumni in identifying strategies to implement career plans. Comprehensive career related services and programs are offered which can assist in choosing a major, finding employment or an internship, and for alumni, making a successful career transition.

Our mission is to provide the foundation for each individual to:

  • Understand the relationship between their academic studies and careers.
  • Make sound career decisions based on an evaluation of their goals,abilities, interests, and values.
  • Test possible career choices through cooperative education, internships, and part-time jobs.
  • Develop skills for an effective job search.
  • Research post-graduate educational opportunities.

Choosing a major is just one part of your career path, but an important one. What Can I Do with This Major? is a tool that students can use to find out more about different majors and research careers that are associated with those majors. Clicking on Information will provide general areas and typical employers associated with that major, as well as strategies to help prepare for career opportunities. Clicking on Links will provide access to websites with further information about the major and related careers.

This tool is a great on-line guide in learning more about your interests; give it a try!
